Centurion Makes e-Auto


Gram Tarang, under the aegis of Centurion University, Odisha, has been recognized as the first e-Automobile Manufacturer in East and North-East of India by the International Centre for Automotive Technology, Government of India.

 
This Certification will allow Centurion University to produce battery-operated rickshaws on a commercial basis.
 
After long and arduous effort and perseverance, two students of the University Somnath Patnaik and Jakesh Sahoo have been successful in this venture.
 
 This has been hailed as a most innovative enterprise of its kind. The University is presently engaged in research to be able to manufacture several more products such as Electronic two-wheelers, Open Ambulance and Golf-carts within the next six months.
 
Mukti Kanta Mishra, President of the University has congratulated those who were involved in this project and made it a grand success.
 
Prof. Mishra said that through this endeavor, Centurion University has demonstrated its perseverance and depth to support and celebrate Entrepreneurship amongst its students from ideation to complete production and enterprise.
 
This project has led a new pathway sand opened fresh opportunities in the fields of Design, Engineering works, Maintenance and development for students cutting across the disciplines of Engineering and Management. 
 
This is in synch with the University’s endeavor to integrate learning with actual domains and industry integration.
 
These developments have validated Centurion University's long standing practice of teaching through practice mode using labs and projects where a lot of emphasis is laid on applying the concepts learned, develop competency required in the market place by use of real time/industry used software, tools, databases and labs, real, practical projects and product development as an important focus.
 
This has created opportunities for a new synergy in the minds of students who choose to explore new horizons in multi disciplinary studies such as manufacturing, production and Mechatronics.
 
This also has provided immense research potential and possibilities for students coming to this University from abroad.
