Once the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department of School & Mass Education (DSME) announced the Dress Code Plan, many of the
Education Officers have grabed the opportunity to prove their mettle.
Leading the lot is Kapilendra Mishra, who has taken the lead to implement the Dress Code in his Education district.
The District Inspector of Schools, Rourkela, who is known for his spirit and zeal to ensure discipline and decorum in the schools, has decided to enforce the new Dress Code for Primary and Higher Primary School teachers in Rourkela.
Though the State Government has not included Rourkela Education District to implement Dress Code for teachers in the first phase, Mr.Mishra to give rise to the self esteem and to provide tremendous visibility to School & mass Education Department in the field he has appealed the teachers to go for new Dress Code.
Lady teachers have taken the appeal seriously and have started wearing the appropriate attire- Pink Sari and Black blouse as advised by the State Government.
DSME in its order issued recently has asked the DI of Schools Rourkela to appeal the teachers to wear appropriate attire during the Duty Period in the schools.
Kapilendra Mishra, DI of Schools,taking the cue appealed the teachers to go for the Dress Code.
The Teachers of the Education District welcomed the move and have started wearing the new attire.
“This has brought a new change in our mind set and we feel great about it”, said a lady teacher.
She said the pink colour of sari reflects the sign of “music” and it keeps the mind jolly.
“We are happy that the State Government has chosen “pink” rather than “white” sari.
“It would have been mechanical in its approach, but with Ms.Sarangi at the helm, she has opted for the best”, said she
Ashok Paikray, a leading educational activist has lauded the new initiaitve of the State Government.
Mr.Paikray feels that the move of the Government is in right direction to improve the condition of the educational standard in the state and to bring more enthusiasm among the teching community.
