Tata women on empowerment mode

The Tata Steel Paribar women community celebrated the Century of International Women’s Day in Trijanga Tata Paribar Colony here on 8 March.

All the women pledged to achieve higher level of development for ensure better quality of life, income and happiness for their families.

They are the members of rehabilitated families for Steel Major’s upcoming Steel Plant here, who have created a bench mark of development for themselves.
During the celebration of more than 10 lady PRIs of the periphery villages also participated in the Women’s Day celebrations by Tata Paribar Women Community.

Sixty per cent women members have launched income generation programs with an objective for much better quality of life and women empowerment.

The 22 all Women Tata Paribar SHGs have achieved a transaction level of Rs 20 lakhs with a total savings of more than Rs 9 Lakhs in last four years.

In order to achieve better levels of income, the rehabilitation and resettlement team of Tata Steel is continuously imparting Capacity Building Training in the sectors Soura Painting, Stitching, Poultry & Goat Rearing and Computer based literacy programs.

Even girls are availing technical education through Tata Steel Paribar Scholarship programs.

In Resettlement and Rehabilitation, SHG has been playing significant role improving the quality of life, such as better livelihood, health for the families and education for the children.

The women of SHGs have taken lot of initiatives in motivating parent to send their children to schools.

The women have been participating in various meetings including parents meetings for monitoring of children progress in schools and community meeting for various development decisions in the colony and camps.

Similarly SHG have been acting as a forum for discussing health issues in the colony.

They have formed the group for education and sensitization of women on reproductive and child health.

The women of SHGs have taken initiatives to link up with various government health programs so that they can access the Govt health facilities in the colony and camps.
