Legendary leader Biju Patnaik was remembered fondly by JSL on 5 March.

So the JSL Foundation Kalinganagar organized Free Cataract Eye Operation Camp for people of Kalinganagar and peripheral villages on the birth day of Biju Babu.

A Diagnostic camp for identification of Cataract patients was organized here today at the Stainless Skill Training Institute at Trijanga.

Technical support was provided by the reputed Kalinga Eye Hospital and Research Centre (KEHRC), Dhenkanal.

Recently KEHRC conducted successful cataract operations of 113 patients organized by the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Heritage.

During the diagnostic camp 225 patients from round 30 villages registered them in the camp.

The response from the peripheral village was highly encouraging, said Subodh Kumar Mahapatra, AGM CSR of the JSL.

After screening 87 cases recommended for operation, 77 patients were provided with power glass and 134 cases were provided with medicine, said Mr.Mahapatra.

All cases recommended for operation were taken to Kalinga Eye Hospital and Research Centre Dhenkanal by two buses for operation.

The cataract operation will be conducted on two consecutive dates on 6-7 March with the help of intraocular lens (IOL).

A team of volunteers from JSL CSR team have accompanied with patients for their comfort.

Rajdeep Mohanty, Resident Director JSL is harping on humanitarian approach in dealing with the land losers and people of peripheral villages.

So JSL is finding more acceptances among the villagers of the nearby areas, said a social activist.
