CET Bags NB Accreditation

For the first time in Odisha, a State Government run Engineering College, College of Engineering & Technology (CET)  has received National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

NBA Member Secretary Anil Kumar Nassa has informed the decision of the Board to the Principal P K Patra here today.

Dr.Nassa has said that NBA approved the accreditation status for the Under Graduate Programs of Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Prof.Patra was happy to receive the accreditation as CET is one of the top engineering colleges under BPUT, which is providing qualitative education to its students for which placement is 95 Percent.

Principal Secretary  Skill Development and Technical Education, L N Gupta lauded the efforts of CET authorities, when Prof.Patra briefed him about the NBA for CET.

This achievement of CET is the result of the over drive of the Department of Skill Development & Technical Education (SDTE) motivating the Government Engineering Colleges to take NB Accreditation and upgrade their academic standards.

So CET took up the matter with all sincerity and now it has received the accreditation after an expert team visited the institution and was satisfied with the facilities, infrastructure and faculty.

CET is providing quality education in various engineering streams to 1346 students and stands on the top position, said a former Vice Chancellor of BPUT.

With CET shining on every count, the institution should be accorded the Unitary Technical University Status, said he.

BPUT has earlier favored CET for Unitary University Status, however till date the move has not taken the shape.

With presence of Mr.Gupta as Principal Secretary  in Department of Skill Development & Technical Education, CET is better placed to grab University Status, feels a former Chief Secretary, who was instrumental setting up CET.
