Rudy Lauds Centurion


The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organised the 3rd meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on the 28 and 29 January in Odisha. 

 
Before the meeting, the Parliamentary Team led by Union Minister Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy, 11 MPs and officials of the MSDE toured Centurion University on 28 January, visiting each workshop and lab on the Campus. This is the second visit of the Union Minister Mr.Rudy in the past three months.
 
On this occasion, Minister Mr. Rudy inaugurated the ‘Centurion Skill Development Center’ and ‘Centurion Audio Visual Centre’.
 
While inaugurating the Centurion Skill Development Model Centre, Mr. Rudy stated that, “More Model Skill Centres like the one launched today, should be opened up across states so that there is visibility of brand Skill India. There has to be awareness to the last mile for every youth to capitalise on this opportunity.”
 
The entire team were highly appreciative about skill-integration education model which uses teaching-practice-production approach. They had expressed their desire to replicate this model in different constituencies across the country.
 
The Union Minister along with the Parliamentary Consultative Committee also visited the University’s Micro Business Centre, which is a unique and innovative incubator for research and practice in entrepreneurship development.
 
Centurion University headed by the President of the University, Prof Mukti Mishra, Vice Chancellor, and Managing Director Gram Tarang,  Abhinav Madan welcomed the delegation on the Campus.
 
Prof. Mishra, President of Centurion University was asked by the Union Minister to be part of the deliberation of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee.
 
Commenting on the occasion, the President said, “Centurion University is greatly honoured to host the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on its Campus and participate in the deliberations. We are gratified that our efforts to integrate skills in higher education while ensuring skill with substance, scale with sustainability and speed with stability have started bearing fruits. We are striving to ensure that appropriate and relevant of education is imparted, so students and trainees acquire the necessary competency, ability, dexterity and capacity to be productive citizens of the country. We will continue our humble endeavour to link education to ‘employability, employment and entrepreneurship’, which in turn will contribute to a better tomorrow for the youth of India.”
