While both Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar irritated the Prime Minister, Dr.Man Mohan Singh drew some solace from Naveen Patnaik.
In the recently held National Development Council (NDC) Meeting both Mr.Modi and Mr. Kumar launched tired against the UPA Government.
The Chief Minister of Gujarat was at his caustic best, when he said if CBI has some spare time then they should probe MGNREGS, which has turned out to be den of corruption.
While Narendra Modi attacked the Centre on price rise and politicizing the CBI, Nitish Kumar accused the Centre of encroaching on the autonomy of states in financial matters.
When both the Chief Ministers attacked the Centre and UPA Government, the Prime Minister looked worried, say insiders.
However Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik never attacked the Centre or the Prime Minister.
Mr.Patnaik coolly presented the facts on development taking place in the state and sought more fiscal support from the Centre for faster growth.
It seemed the Prime Minister listen Naveen Patnaik more intently and was putting a word or two to Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, said sources.
Later the Prime Minister during lunch break met Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik.
Sources said that Dr. Singh and Mr.Patnaik has lunch in the same table.
Dr.Singh and Mr.Patnaik exchanged few words and the Prime Minister seemed to be drawing some solace from one of the suave anti-Congress Chief Minister, who has been nice to him.
Political observers point out that it seems the UPA leadership is looking towards the Regional Outfit of the Eastern Indian state for support in any future crisis.
Hence the bonhomie between the Prime Minister of UPA Government and one of the former partners of NDA.
